Taming the Dragon: Ship Production Code with AI Coding Agents
"You ruined all the other AI talks for the rest of the conference." — Justice Conder
That's what one attendee told me after my CodeMash 2026 session. 70+ engineers packed the room—they had to bring in extra chairs.
Now I'm running this as a live 2-hour virtual workshop.
The Problem You're Facing
Your team adopted AI coding agents. Some devs are shipping faster. Others are debugging AI-generated messes for hours.
You need a repeatable system that works across your whole team—not just the developers who "get it." And you need it without sacrificing code quality, losing test coverage, or creating maintenance nightmares.
What You'll Walk Away With
A production-ready workflow you can implement Monday:
✅ TDD + AI agent integration that keeps code testable (watch me build a real feature live)
✅ Context window management that prevents agents from "forgetting" your requirements
✅ Team adoption playbook for rolling this out without chaos
✅ How to spot when agents are guessing vs. delivering production-quality code
✅ Refactoring strategies for inherited AI-generated code debt
What Past Participants Say
"What really stood out was the emphasis on trusting the LLM more. Specifically, having it help you set its own guardrails and constraints to produce better results. It made the process feel like a cohesive, collaborative workflow. Steven's talk was eye-opening, fun, and engaging. He shares wisdom on guiding AI agents to work with you, not against you."
— Jonathan Anleu, Software Engineer at Raven Solutions
"For two whole hours my attention never wandered as Steven walked through features and use cases doing agent-assisted programming. I learned so much I almost missed the following sessions because I whipped out my laptop and started coding! Highly recommended, highly entertaining, and totally practical."
— Steve Wainstead, 30 year software engineer
"This was a highly practical, engaging session that went beyond basic AI prompting. Steven’s hands-on approach made it easy to see how to build a repeatable workflow for collaborating with a coding agent, and I walked away excited to apply these techniques in my day-to-day development work."
— Emily Brooks, Front End Developer at Wheelhouse Digital Marketing Group
"I've been coding with AI assistance for awhile now, and "Taming the Dragon" solidified many workflows and concepts I've been stumbling across in my own development. Steven shared a clear workflow for coding with AI and covered a number of common failure modes to avoid as well."
— Corey House, Software Consultant & Pluralsight Author
Who This Is For
✅ Engineering managers evaluating AI tools for their teams
✅ Senior engineers leveling up their AI workflow
✅ Tech leads responsible for code quality
✅ Teams that tried AI agents and got inconsistent results
Who This Is NOT For
❌ Complete beginners to programming
❌ Teams looking for a "no code" solution

💻 Live on Zoom (link sent after purchase)
🎯 Limited to 50 seats for quality Q&A
This is a live workshop—not a pre-recorded course. You'll watch me build a real feature with TDD and Claude Code, ask questions in real-time, and leave with a workflow you can use immediately.
Your Instructor
Hey 👋 I'm Steven Diamante. I've spent 1,000+ hours working with AI coding agents in production codebases, and I coach software teams to do the same. I've been on extreme programming (XP) teams most of my career and that's taught me valuable life lessons like don't be scared to ask the question everyone's thinking, failure is part of learning, and effective collaboration starts with phycological safety. I've pair programmed daily over my 8-year career and over the past year I've been pairing with AI coding agents.
At CodeMash 2026 in Sandusky, Ohio, my talk packed a room of 70+ engineers. People told me for the remaining two days that it was the best AI talk at the conference.
During this workshop, I will show you how I effective guide coding agents to ship high-quality software. I will answer your questions and explore areas of interest for the group. The way professional software engineers ship production-grade code is changing. We won't be writing code by hand anymore, so come climb up to the higher level of abstraction and guide your AI coding agents to build the products of tomorrow.
